Meet Elizabeth and Ed.  Their thoughts reflect the feelings of many Martha Franks' residents as they recount the reasons people choose to live here . . .
Elizabeth
"We were having dinner with our friends, Louise and Bill, when unexpectedly, they announced they'd decided to move to a retirement community.  We were surprised at first, but then they explained how they came to this decision.  They visited several communities and asked a lot of questions before they made their decision.  When they did make a choice, it was Martha Franks.  The more they told us, the more we wanted to see for ourselves.  Their choice made a lot of sense to us.  So we made an appointment.

While touring, we spoke candidly with other residents at Martha Franks.  The staff was so friendly and helpful.  We left with a good feeling.  Like our friends, Louise and Bill, we soon knew we should seriously consider Martha Franks ourselves.

Now, we couldn't be happier.  There's always something to do, somewhere to go.  And when Ed is busy with his volunteer work or out playing golf with his foursome, I can attend an exercise class or go shopping with friends.  It's so convenient.

I feel safe and secure.  I'm confident my son, Rob, won't have to worry about us.  We're comfortable, happy, and we're in a Christ-centered community that provides for us as our needs change.

For instance, when Ed had his back surgery, he was down for almost three months.  Rob didn't have to fly home to help drive me to and from the hospital.  I could walk over to the Health Center and be with Ed during the day, then walk home to spend the night in my own bed.  Ed recovered beautifully - right here at Martha Franks.

Grandchildren are welcome at Martha Franks, too.  There's plenty of room for them to stay when they come and visit us.  That's one of the main reasons we chose Martha Franks."

Ed
"I can honestly say - Marha Franks has lived up to all our expectations.

First, there was a great selection of housing types.  We chose a cottage because it was right for us, no maintenance or upkeep, inside or out, and lots of storage space.

In addition to our home, we love the lifestyle at Martha Franks.  We get all this at a rate we feel is fair.  You see, we planned our retirement by working hard and saving.  Because our monthly fee covers almost everything, we can still live within our budget.  We enjoy the good life we dreamed of and have the peace of mind that comes with planning ahead.

I enjoy the chapel services held daily, and I volunteer in the Health Center.  During the midday meal, I enjoy not only the good food but also the fellowship of newly found friends.  I can even do our banking right here on campus with a choice of three major banks.  Just about everything is provided, even a barber shop and beauty parlor.

Moving to Martha Franks gave me the assurance that now, no matter what happens to Elizabeth or me, we'll have the care we need.  Had we known earlier the great sense of peace and security here, we would have moved here sooner.  Instead of taking away our sense of freedom, moving to Martha Franks assures us of independence for the rest of our lives."
